Hi Visitor!
I'm Jayson. A graduate of John Jay College with a degree of Economics. UX Design wasn't on my radar back then, so unfortunately, I started late. I started pursuing UX Design because it was an interesting type of work that I never noticed sitting in the corner of a room that was filled with all the usual things you hear other students pursue, Finance, Comp Sci, Nursing, Law, Policing, Psych, yada yada, you get it. I was never the most academically outgoing student, and seeing everyone my age — including people in my family find their stepping stones made me feel out of place, I always had a fire in me, I didn't know where to sail my ship.
I discovered UX through social media and something about it clicked with me, so I've decided to try it out. It has a little learning curve but it allows me to add creativity with problem solving, but I'm still early in my journey so I have a LOT to learn and a few mistakes along the way.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, that slow progress is still progress, find something that you might enjoy, because it might make it easier. And no matter where you are right now, you should be proud you've come this far anyways. Even if you don't do UX, even if you're someone helping me improve my portfolio by looking at my pages right now! Even if you're a potential employer who's looking great for their mid 30s/40s/50s!!! (also late 20s)
